PIOTR SZEWCZAK
I’m an assistant professor at the Institute of Mathematics of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. In 2015, I earned my PhD in mathematics in the field of general topology. The thesis, supervised by Professor Kazimierz Alster, was titled GO-Spaces and Paracompactness in Cartesian Products.

I work in the field of general topology and set-theoretic topology, infinite combinatorics, and selection principles, with an emphasis on covering properties in products of spaces.

In 2014, I was awarded Etiuda Grant by Polish National Science Center. This scholarship included a 6-month internship at Bar-Ilan University in Israel under the supervision of prof. Boaz Tsaban. Then I continued the collaboration with prof. Tsaban under a 1-year post-doctoral position at Bar-Ilan Univeristy. In 2021, together with prof. Lyubomyr Zdomskyy from the Vienna University of Technology, we got a 3-year international Weave-UNISONO Grant financed by Polish National Science Center and Austrian Science Fund to implement the project Set-theoretic aspects of topological selections.
